Awards

This is my sweet boy with all of his end of school awards. Friday was his last day of school, and they had awards day. He received the citizenship award and the National Physical Fitness award. In his class on Thursday he got the scientist award. He is such a competitive child, and was wondering why he couldn't have possibly been chosen for all the other awards. I told them they couldn't give them all to the same person even if he deserved them. Believe me he will try to win everything there is a competition for. I love this so much about him, but it also drives us crazy. He is a wonderful, wonderful little boy and we are so very proud of all he does!

10 Years

Well here we are... the old married couple. It has been 10 wonderful years for us. It is crazy how quickly time does go by, and you really don't feel any older (although we may look it). We have had many great experiences over the past 10 years. We have gone to Europe 2 times, moved 5 times, and now have 4 amazing children. I like to tell everyone that in 6 consecutive years we spent Christmas in 5 different houses, and we are not even in the military! We do have a great marriage that just gets stronger every year. We have really grown to depend on each other and make one another better people. I am looking forward to the many wonderful things that we have yet to experience in the coming years. Happy Anniversary to us!!!!!

Bucket

That's right...this is my little girl in a bucket! I spent today cleaning off our front porch. It was a mess from Cody, and really needed a good scrubbing. It took me all day to achieve this because of the little ones. I got them this bucket of water to play in while I worked. It really keeps them entertained for a while. After getting two sets of clothes soaking wet they finally came outside naked, and Pipi decided to submerge herself in the bucket. She keep saying that she was freezing, but would not get out! Crazy kid!

Memorial weekend

Not much going on today, so I thought I would include these cute pictures from our weekend at Table Rock. We are very excited about summer break around here. Only 3 more days!

Here is my wonderful husband and sweet Grandma taking in the view of Table Rock.

Isn't she just so sweet!!! Thank you Aunt Jamie for the super cute dress.

This is JJ's "cheese" face!

Waterfall

We spent the morning in the water at Papa and Nana's cabin. They have a beautiful waterfall right out the front door. The water was freezing but it didn't slow the kids down any. Isn't L.C. a wonderful big brother. He climed the waterfall several times and then helped No-Bo climb up. I know that Papa can't wait to see this trick in person!

They did it!!!!!

Table Rock

Wow what a day! Today we were brave and decided to hike to the top of Table Rock! It was a 7 mile round trip and we all made it. The little ones had it easy of course in the backpacks. Papa and Nana went with us in preparation for their trip to the Grand Canyon this Sept. I love this picture! They look like they could fall off the mountain at any time, and well yeah they really could. Luckily you can't tell what a tight grip Papa has on the little ones hands. One slip and you are a goner. We packed our lunch and ate at the top with this amazing view. The ants were very thankful!
I am so proud of this little boy. His little four year old legs made the entire 7 mile hike!

"The Golden Girls"

This weekend we traveled to Pickens to be a part of Debbie's (AKA Nana) retirement celebration. She and two other teachers from her school have a combined 100 years of service. They are known as "The Golden Girls"! She has taught Kindergarten for 33 years! I know they will miss her, but hopefully this means we will get to see Papa and Nana more often! They had a great party for the three of them ,and we had a great time visiting with everyone. This pictures shows "The Golden Girls" breaking away from the principal. What an adventurous, fun filled weekend!

Beach Day

The 1st graders had beach day today. What a blast they had. Many of them complained of brain freeze from the water sprayed by the fire truck. They kept going back though.

Happy 2nd Birthday!

My babies are no longer babies. They turned 2 years old today. We will have to call them the little ones now. We have spent the last 2 weekends celebrating their birthdays. They loved their new scooters, and knew how to use the right away.

Remembering Cody... Sept. 25,1992-May 16,2008

After 15 1/2 years it is time for Cody to leave us. We have made the decision to send him on. Although he is still mentally with us, I can't bear to see him try to get up and walk anymore. His back legs will no longer carry him like they used to. I was telling the boys how he used to try to sprint out the door and down the street in his younger days. I would have to chase after him first thing in the morning and he would make me so mad. Oh how I wish that were still the case. We would walk at least 4 miles everyday, and he taught me how to walk fast or get pulled along. He has been the most amazing dog ever. His best trick is giving high five! I could have never have lived by myself if it weren't for Cody there to protect me. Before I had children I always said "I hope that I love my children as much as my dog". We have given him extra love these past few days since we made the decision, and I even cooked him pancakes with syrup just like I did for his Birthdays before he left today. I know he is loved and has a full belly! Farewell my Cody. I will miss you tremendously, but it makes me smile to know that you will soon be running again because we know that ALL DOGS GO TO HEAVEN!
